Fantasy Football Week 11 Start or Sit: Brandin Cooks

It was rather shocking to see the New Orleans Saints lose in Week 10 at home against the San Francisco 49ers, as the Superdome has become a safe haven for the Saints. For basically every player on the team, they play much better at home, and that translates to their fantasy values, as quarterback Drew Brees is always great at home it seems.

For the Saints, first-round pick wide receiver Brandin Cooks has been great this season, and for fantasy football owners he has become a real steal. In 2014, Cooks has 48 catches for 500 yards and three touchdowns, all impressive numbers for a rookie wideout.

Like the Saints’ offense, Cooks has been much better at home this season. Cooks has been fantastic in all four of the Saints’ home games. In his first home game against the Minnesota Vikings, Cooks caught 10 passes for 74 yards. In the Saints’ overtime win against the Buccaneers, Cooks once again had double-digit receptions, as he caught 12 passes for 56 yards, which is a very nice day in PPR leagues.

In Cooks’ last two games at home his receptions are down a bit, but he is making up for that by finding the end zone. Against the Green Bay Packers and 49ers, Cooks combined for 15 receptions for 184 yards with two touchdowns.

For fantasy owners of Cooks in Week 11, the good news is that the Saints will be at home hosting the Cincinnati Bengals who are coming off an embarrassing loss to the Cleveland Browns. Cooks is a must-start against a struggling Bengals’ defense in Week 11.
