Fantasy Football Week 12 Waiver Wire Pickup: RB Isaiah Crowell

Isaiah Crowell Browns

News broke before the Sunday games that Isaiah Crowell would be the starting running back for the Cleveland Browns in their Week 11 matchup against the Houston Texans. Given the chance over fellow rookie Terrance West and disappointing Ben Tate, Crowell showed that he has the ability to be a starting-level running back at the professional level.

Although Crowell didn’t score a touchdown and his stats weren’t that impressive, he showed consistency and patience in terms of waiting for his blockers to fill the hole. On 14 carries, Crowell ran for 61 yards. He also caught two passes for 30 yards. While Crowell did lose a fumble in this game, it should be noted that it was his first professional start and it was a cold game in Cleveland.

Crowell didn’t have a splash performance in his first start, but the future is bright with this player.

If you look back on Crowell’s game dating back to high school, it is clear that he has the ability to be a special player. A five-star, All-American out of high school, Crowell started his college career at Georgia. However, because of problems there, Crowell finished his collegiate career at Alabama State. So far in his NFL career, Crowell has stayed out of trouble and he is finally getting the chance to be a starting running back in the league.

Going forward, Crowell will be licking his chops for his Week 12 matchup as he will be going up against one of the league’s worst run defenses in the Atlanta Falcons. Running backs are hard to find in free agency. If Crowell is available in your league, you should pick him up without a doubt.
