Fantasy Football Week 12 Start or Sit: Jay Cutler

Is there a player in the league fans talk about more than Jay Cutler? It seems his name is constantly coming up, some good, plenty bad, but the conversation can never be avoided.

Fantasy wise, Cutler is a very good option. Yes, he had horrible games against the Miami Dolphins and Green Bay Packers, but every quarterback is going to have low scoring games from time to time; Aaron Rodgers has even had two duds himself this year.

The fact is, Cutler is going to put up solid fantasy numbers almost every week due to volume. He has plenty of talent around him, so even if the Chicago Bears‘ offense isn’t what it was projected to be, it rarely is going to be held to less than two or three touchdowns throughout the course of the game. Plus, Marc Trestman is a pass-happy coach. Cutler, just by starting, is good for 20 or more fantasy points almost every week.

Even though Cutler threw two interceptions against the Minnesota Vikings, he still threw for 330 yards and three touchdowns. There really is no reason to avoid playing Cutler every week on your roster unless you have a great alternative; and if you have two great QBs, the question is why you didn’t trade one of them in the first place.

You can’t guarantee that Cutler is going to put his Bears in a position to win every week, but he should put your fantasy team in a position to win; and for fantasy owners, that’s all that matters. Start him in Week 12.
