Rookie wide receivers are all the rage this season. With the NFL becoming a passing league more and more, receivers have much greater value. Week 14 features many pass catchers with good matchups. If you need to choose between two rookie receivers to add to your FanDuel team, there’s one that clearly outranks the other.

Kelvin Benjamin

The Carolina Panthers rookie wide receiver has been a Godsend. After the Panthers lost most of the receiving corps in free agency, the team drafted Benjamin as a future No. 1 guy. Benjamin has scored eight touchdowns this season, including three in Weeks 10 and 11 combined. He caught 12 passes for 179 yards as well.

With no other significant passing options, except for Greg Olsen, Benjamin will have a big Week 14 against the New Orleans Saints. The Saints defense has allowed opposing wide receivers to score 24.8 fantasy points per game, 29th in the league. The defense has allowed 56 fantasy points in the last two games.

Week 14 FanDuel Salary: $7,500

Jordan Matthews

Matthews ranks a few spots below Benjamin in standard-scoring leagues at No. 20. He has scored five touchdowns in the last five games. It looks like Mark Sanchez is targeting him more than any other receiver, including Jeremy Maclin. He ranks ninth in points per game since Sanchez took over in Week 9.

Those numbers will likely not continue this week as the Philadelphia Eagles welcome the defending Super Bowl champions Seattle Seahawks. According to ESPN.com, the Seahawks allow the fewest fantasy points per game to opposing wide outs, 14.0 points. The defense has allowed a total of 13 points in the last three weeks. Even on the road, the defense is nothing to mess with. Matthews is a low-end flex option this week.

Week 14 FanDuel Salary: $7,500

The two wide receivers have been spectacular in recent weeks. Even with the same salary number, Benjamin is the clear-cut favorite this week. The Saints secondary is one of the worst in the league; and with the NFC South still up for grabs, Cam Newton should be chucking it up to keep pace with Drew Brees. Benjamin should have seven catches for 84 yards and a touchdown.
