Fantasy Football Playoff Challenge: Draft WR T.Y. Hilton

Of all the mid-round wide receivers grabbed in fantasy football drafts this summer, WR T.Y. Hilton of the Indianapolis Colts has been one of the most valuable finds. He finished third in the entire league with 1,345 receiving yards on 82 receptions. He also caught seven touchdowns and recorded six 100-yard contests, including an astonishing 223-yard performance in Week 6 against the Houston Texans.

Hilton has emerged as the favorite downfield threat for Andrew Luck and the play of the wideout was a large reason why Luck set career-highs (4,761 YDS/40 TDs) across the board in 2014. Hilton has overshadowed veteran WR Reggie Wayne in the process and the speedster will see double-digit targets per game.

In the postseason last year, Hilton exploded. He hauled in 13 balls (18 targets) for a staggering 224 receiving yards and two touchdowns in the Wild Card Round. He added another four balls for 103 yards in the next round and finished with a two-game total of 17 catches for 327 yards and two touchdowns.

Hilton could very well put up similar numbers throughout the playoffs this year, because Indy faces the Cincinnati Bengals in the first round and seem primed to move on to the Divisional Round. This would give Hilton at least two games to produce for fantasy fans, which makes him a decent second WR to pickup in the FFPC. So if you are looking for a cheap stud wideout, then target Hilton early in this year’s Fantasy Football Playoff Challenge.
