Building the Perfect NBA FanDuel Lineup for Jan. 19

Building the perfect NBA FanDuel lineup is a difficult chore, so I hope this helps you out. Keep in mind that the NBA can be tricky on DFS sites, considering there are many "game-time decisions" and random days off to worry about. Always double-check to ensure all these players are scheduled to play as expected.

Goran Dragic has been on fire lately for the Phoenix Suns (pun intended) as he's coming off a 21-point, eight-assist performance against the Minnesota Timberwolves who, similarly to the Los Angeles Lakers, are absolutely putrid at defending opposing backcourts. There will be a ton of points scored in this game, thus leading to fantasy gold.

Although Isaiah Thomas is coming off two sub-par fantasy performances, he had been on a roll the week prior and is a streaky player whose fortunes could change instantly. Thomas had exceeded 5x value in five straight contests prior considering his $ 5,200 price, and if there is ever a good time to get back into the swing of things, it's against the Los Angeles Lakers. Dragic, Thomas and Eric Bledsoe should all have stellar showings.

Giannis "Alphabet" Antetokounmpo is typically someone who I only like to play in tournament-specific lineups because he can be maddeningly inconsistent. However, on a four-game slate, I'm willing to take the anxiety-inducing risk. Averaging 23.7 fantasy PPG at ,000 is not ideal, but with his prowess for secondary and tertiary statistical production, he has 40-plus upside any given night, thus adding a nice ceiling to his low floor.

SG - DeMar DeRozan - Toronto Raptors - $7,500

Since returning from injury, DeMar DeRozan has hit the ground running for the Toronto Raptors, yet is priced much cheaper than he was all season (,500), and will be for very long. So, enjoy it while you can. DeRozan has scored 20 points or more on the floor in his first three games back, and has been a given for 30 fantasy points, give or take a couple. The Milwaukee Bucks are a solid defensive team, but DeRozan is virtually matchup proof.

SF - Khris Middleton - Milwaukee Bucks - $5,400

For ,400, Khris Middleton is a borderline must-play on a four-game slate considering how weak the SF position is on FanDuel. He's scored between 10 and 18 points on the floor over the last five games and always adds adequate steals, boards and assists. This makes exceeding value far less of a chore for Middleton than many other similarly priced options.

SF - Nicolas Batum - Portland Trail Blazers - $5,400

Nicolas Batum is not a prolific scorer of the ball, and has been slumping lately, but he's still playing over 30 minutes a game as part of an incredibly productive starting unit for the Portland Trail Blazers. Batum essentially averages five assists (7.5 fantasy points) and five rebounds (six fantasy points) per game. Thus, when he scores in double figures on the floor, he is going to either exceed or hit value at ,400 as a quasi punt-play.

PF - LaMarcus Aldridge - Portland Trail Blazers - $10,100

LaMarcus Aldridge is simply a beast; a beast that will feast on Sacramento Kings PF Jason Thompson and the other nine PFs the team rotates every night. If DeMarcus Cousins is indeed out again for the Kings, we could see Aldridge scoop up 15 rebounds with utter ease to go along with his signature 20 points on the floor. There's a good chance Aldridge is the top fantasy performer of this slate in the end.

PF - Pau Gasol - Chicago Bulls - $9,300

Pau Gasol has simply been dominating this season for the Chicago Bulls, albeit at the expense of C Joakim Noah. Noah is out currently, however, so Gasol will start at center against the Cleveland Cavaliers and match up with Timofey Mozgov. Thus, I like his chances for another 20-plus point --10-plus rebound -- performance, with 50-point upside.

C - Meyers Leonard - Portland Trail Blazers - $4,000

Meyers Leonard and Chris Kaman have both done a serviceable job at C for the Portland Trail Blazers since the team lost Robin Lopez indefinitely. I would have played either of the two, but could only fit Leonard into this lineup at ,000. Expecting him to see 20 minutes and accumulate around 20 fantasy points is a fair assumption -- which is more than adequate considering the salary relief he already provides.
