Quarterback

Matt Ryan $19,650

Matt Ryan gets the honor of playing the leagues worst pass defense. The Panthers slowed down Kirk Cousins on MNF, but have been horrible all season long. Ryan is having an MVP season, and has played terrific down the stretch. He will continue that play here against the Panthers and makes for an extremely safe cash game play with plenty of upside. He does cost a good amount of money, but there is plenty of value on this slate to fit him in. Julio Jones is battling an injury, but Ryan has shown the ability to have plenty of success with Jones sidelined. I would rather he play, but it won’t move the needle for me too much either way. All in all, he is a great play in both cash games and tournaments.

Tom Savage $10,000

Savage isn’t my 2nd favorite QB on the week, but I may have the 2nd most exposure to him. When you combine his price with what he lets you do at other positions, it really makes him intriguing. He threw for 260 yards in half a game against the Jags, who have a decent pass defense. The Bengals do as well, so it won’t come easy, but I think he gets there. He looked for Hopkins a lot, and completed 7 passes to him in just the 2nd half. The Bengals have ranked 17th against the WR1, so we could see a big day out of DeAndre Hopkins as well. I am a fan of Savage in both cash games and tournaments. I will likely split Matt Ryan and Savage in both.

Running Back

DeMarco Murray $17,750

Murray got vultured by Derrick Henry twice last game, and that will hopefully keep people off him this week. They will want to get him back in the end zone, and he will have no trouble doing that against the Jags. Lamar Miller ended with 17 fantasy points on the day, and he struggled all game with injuries. Murray will have his way between the tackles and could be in for a huge game. The Jaguars also give up the 7th most passing yards per game out of the backfield, which heightens his upside. Murray is my favorite RB on the high end, though I think you can go a bunch of different ways in tournaments.

Todd Gurley $12,000

His price went way up on some sites, and I am not a fan over there. However, Gurley is just 12k on DraftDay, which means he only needs about 14 to hit value. The 49ers are by far the worst team in the league against the run, and you can see that yourself by looking at every RB who plays against them. The Rams are also probably the worst offensive line in the league, so it should be interesting to see what happens. Either way, Gurley will have more opportunity in this match up and I could see him finally having a huge TD run in this one. I do like him more in cash games, but will have exposure in tournaments as well.

Wide Receiver

T.Y. Hilton $15,550

Hilton and the Colts take on the Raiders, who have been consistently bad against the pass. They have also ranked 29th against WR1’s, which bodes extremely well for Hilton. Luck loves to target him, and he should be able to reel in those targets this week. We saw Rivers have a pretty nice day against the Raiders, but failed to get in the end zone a few times. Luck looks super good right now and I expect him to roll through the Raiders this week. The Colts are clicking right now on both offense and defense, and they look to be real contenders in such a weak division. I know the Raiders are hyped up to be super great, but I think the Colts roll through them by at least 14 this week. T.Y. Hilton will surely have something to do with it.

Dontrelle Inman $10,550

Inman looks to be Rivers favorite target right now. He has 44 targets in his last 6, and has turned that into 3 TD’s and almost 75 yards per game. The Browns are not the team to slow anyone down, and there is no chance Joe Haden will cover him. He is a smaller slot guy and should line up on the inside more often. Haden will see the likes of Tyrell Williams and Travis Benjamin. Inman will get a bunch more targets this week, and this is the best match up he has seen yet. He is a great play in all formats, and I will have trouble not having almost 100% exposure. I don’t see many paths to failure this week for Inman.

Tight End

Delanie Walker $9,700

Walker is just the most consistent guy at the tight end position, and it really isn’t close. He gets the targets, and always has a decent game. Whether he gets in the end zone or not, is what ends up making him a good or great play. I think he has a good shot at it against the Jags, who have been slightly below average against TE’s. Mariota will continue to lean on him in the passing game and Walker will deliver like usual. He is a great cash game option, and has enough upside to be used in tournaments as well.

Ryan Griffin $5,500

Ryan Griffin is really cheap. Really cheap. He only needs about 8 points to hit value. He has been targeted heavily with Fiederowicz out, and if he is out again this week, you have to look at Griffin. He let’s you pay up at other positions, and the combo of him and Savage could be a really cheap play with a good amount of upside. You could then pay up everywhere else and get some superstars that will be low owned.

Defense

Bills $6,200

The Dolphins had a really good game against the Jets, or should I say the high school team that does not care at all about the outcome of any game. The Bills are a complete different story, and with this game being in Buffalo, they are in for a rude awakening. The Bills have not given up, and will be breathing down Matt Moore’s throat all game. I expect a bunch of turnovers and a big game for the likes of Ronald Darby and co.
