Point Guard

Chris Paul $16,400

Chris Paul and the Clippers have been playing well lately, especially the combo of Griffin + Paul. They get another fantastic match-up tonight against the Celtics, who have a very weak defense. They also had a thrilling last-second loss just last night in a fast-paced game with the Suns. Isaiah and crew should be tired and Paul will certainly take advantage. Thomas is one of the absolute worst defenders in the league and Bledsoe + Ulis showed that last night. Avery Bradley could see some time on Paul, but I don’t see how they can hide Isaiah on Redick. He is far too good off the ball and Thomas can’t chase him around the floor all night while also running the offense. Paul should have a path of little resistance to value in cash and tournaments. Paul is easily my top PG in all formats.

Malcolm Brogdon $8,850

Brogdon and the Bucks face off with the 76ers in a game we will look to target a ton. Brogdon is simply too cheap on DraftDay, where he has topped 25 fantasy points in 4 of his last 5 games. The Sixers should struggle with Brogdon as they do most guards. Sergio Rodriguez and T.J. McConnell will see most minutes on Brogdon and both are very average defenders. Brogdon is an absolute stud and can score in many different ways, as shown by his triple-double earlier this year against the Bulls. Brogdon is way too cheap here and makes for an excellent play in all formats.

Shooting Guard

Khris Middleton $11,650

We will stay right with the Milwaukee Bucks and take a look at Khris Middleton. With Jabari Parker out for the season, Khris Middleton is 100% the second best player. Some people may have forgotten about him, but he’s the real deal. He’s going to continue to up his production as he sees more minutes. It looks like the Bucks are comfortable playing him at least 30 and that’s more than enough at 11.6k on DraftDay. As previously mentioned, the 76ers don’t play too much defense (outside of Covington). Stauskas has been playing big minutes lately and will be forced to cover Middleton, which will turn into a bloodbath. Middleton can not only score from outside, but is also one of the better post-up guards in the east. He is a virtual lock for 25 fantasy points and will be in all of my games on DraftDay.

Tyler Johnson $10,550

Tyler Johnson has been great for the Heat recently, topping 25 in 4 straight contests. The Heat and Cavs faced off just 2 nights ago, in what was a blowout due to LeBron and Irving resting. This one will be much different and Johnson should be used quite a bit more. He’s a guy they rely on heavily with Dragic off the court and that’s why they signed him for $50 million. He is safe to see at least 26 minutes and has the upside for 35 if he get’s hot. Deron Williams will see time on Johnson, who was one of the worst individual defenders in the league when in Dallas. After he left, the team defensive rating went up a ton. Johnson is fairly priced and makes for a very strong play in all formats, though he will be in more of my cash games than tourneys.

Small Forward

Giannis Antetokounmpo $21,650

While we likely can’t target 3 Bucks in your cash games, they are all great plays. Antetokounmpo is my 2nd favorite of the 3, behind Middleton. Antetokounmpo is still very expensive on DD, but has the type of upside to win you a tournament. Robert Covington will likely cover Giannis and he is the best defender on the 76ers. However, that’s not saying much. He’s still far too slow to stay with ABC. Giannis is going to use his speed in transition and length in the half-court to dominate. While many will be on the other star forwards, Antetokounmpo is right up there with Jokic as my favorite. He should go far too under-owned for a top 10 match-up. Giannis is a little better in tournaments, but I will personally have him everywhere.

Andrew Wiggins $14,400

Wiggins is another guy it will be hard for me to get off of. Coming off of 2 rather disappointing games, I hope people are off of him. He faced off with the Spurs and Jazz, who are two of the 5 best defensive teams in the NBA. He returns with a match-up against the Blazers, who are overall bad on defense. Maurice Harkless is a fine defender, but doesn’t have much of any chance of slowing down Wiggins. Wiggins has no problem shooting 20 times in a game and it’s not crazy to expect 30 real-life points. He’s an absolute scoring machine, though he is reliant on it. The peripherals can be hard to come by, though the Blazers will likely change that. Wiggins is just too cheap for his expected production. I love him everywhere.

Power Forward

Nikola Jokic $17,600

A lot of people are scared of Jokic due to his unstable minutes and lack of consistency. However, those people need to do more research. In those 2 games after the ASB where Jokic saw fewer minutes, was because of foul trouble. This is a guy who will see 30 or more minutes every single night if not in foul trouble. In those 30 minutes, he has the upside to put up 60. If he sees more than that, we have already seen him put up 70 twice. This match-up with the Kings is a good one, as Kosta Koufos has no chance of staying with Jokic. Willie Cauley-Stein could also try, but Jokic is just gonna shoot around him on the perimeter. Jokic is my top option on this slate and I will have him everywhere. As a note, I doubt anyone on this Kings team will get him in foul trouble. They only have 1 guy that attacks the basket and that’s Darren Collison.

Bismack Biyombo $8,250

Biyombo ended up being a popular play last night and rightfully so. When given the minutes, Biyombo is an absolute stud. He may not be the best option on offense, but he gets boards and finds a way to score. If Vucevic is out again, Biyombo will see the bulk of minutes. He will also once again be a great play in all formats. The match-up with the Knicks is fine. They have ranked in the bottom 15 in terms of rebounding and shot blocking allowed. As long as Vucevic is confirmed out, Biyombo is an excellent option everywhere.

Center

Karl-Anthony Towns $21,150

The decision between Towns and Nurkic will be a very difficult one for me. They are both in amazing spots and have the upside to destroy their respective prices on DraftDay. As for Towns, he will be facing off with what could be one of the weaker interiors in basketball. While Nurkic is a big body, he’s respectfully atrocious at stepping outside the paint. Towns is going to absolutely obliterate him. With that being said, he still has the best chance on Towns. Meyers Leonard and Noah Vonleh are the other bigs, but that would just not be fair. Towns is going to do whatever he wants tonight and Thibs will probably keep him on the court for 38 minutes. In both cash games and tournaments, Towns is a stellar option.

Jusuf Nurkic $9,800

Nurkic is the other way you can go if you want to pay down. He has been extremely good for the Blazers and will continue playing big minutes. While I mentioned how bad Nurkic was on defense, Towns isn’t much better. Nurkic should be able to push him around down low and get a good amount of boards and putbacks. Towns also struggles against the pick n roll, which Nurkic and Lillard have been running exceptionally. While Nurkic doesn’t have anywhere near the upside of Towns, he has a better chance of hitting 6x. Nurkic is great in all formats and makes a lot of sense on DraftDay.
