Tiger Woods must realllllllly miss his ex-wife, Elin Nordegren. Why, you ask? Because Woods reportedly wants to get back together with his estranged ex so badly that he is willing to cough up over $600 million if Nordegren agrees to reconcile and remarry. Apparently that’s not good enough for Elin, as she wants a $350 million anti-cheating clause added to the contract.
“Tiger didn’t even balk at the demand. Even though his accountants think he’s crazy, he’s ready to sign the pre-nup and set a wedding date,” a source told the National Enquirer. Woods has done well keeping his personal life out of the limelight since his cheating scandal a few years ago, but I’m sure he hasn’t just been sitting home twiddling his thumbs. If he is willing to put that much of his personal fortune on the line, he must have finally realized that the grass isn’t always greener on the other side.
Some of those close to Tiger say that he never fully got over Nordegren. One can only think that was part of the reason that his golf game went in the tank around the time his wife left him. Well, that and injuries. A successful golf game is predicated on strong mental focus, and if anything is likely to take away focus, it’s the scandal Tiger went through.
If Woods does reconcile with Nordegren, it could spell doom for the rest of the golfing world. Woods’ career has been resurgent as of late, with three wins on the PGA Tour last year. If he gets his personal life to where he wants it and is at peace with that aspect of his life, he may challenge for the major championship record sooner than we thought.
