Only die hard Tampa Bay Rays fans like Tropicana Field, the rest of the baseball world think the Trop is an abyss which needs to be removed from major league baseball and the root of attendance problems for the Tampa Bay Rays. Well, as the Tampa Bay Rays and Texas Rangers get ready to square off in the ALDS starting on Wednesday, the MLB offices issued new rules for any ball which hits the catwalks in the Trop during the playoffs- Major League Baseball today approved a change in the ground rules for Tropicana Field. The change affects any ball striking the upper two catwalks over fair territory.  The new rule will go into effect immediately.
