Arizona Diamondbacks vs. Los Angeles Dodgers Series Preview
Diamondbacks End Road Trip In Dodger Stadium
The Arizona Diamondbacks just concluded a week of baseball that they would like to soon forget. They were swept by the division rival San Francisco Giants in a three-game series, and the bullpen let them down in each game.
Then, the offense was a big disappointment when they squared off against the San Diego Padres and they lost two of three games in that series. They will now finish off their road trip by going up against the Los Angeles Dodgers in a three-game series that starts on Monday.
The probable pitchers for the upcoming series against Los Angeles include Trevor Cahill, Brandon McCarthy and Wade Miley. This is the second time that the Diamondbacks will face the Dodgers in a series this season.
Arizona is currently in third place in the division, and they are facing a struggling Dodgers team that was just swept by the Giants. The offense has been too inconsistent with their performance, and has had problems when runners are in scoring position.
The big issue for Arizona is that their bullpen has not pitched well for them this season, and this is because they have had to use them too often.
The Dodgers have been dealing with injuries, and this has prevented them from starting off the season on a strong note. The Dodgers bullpen has also had problems of their own in 2013, and was one of the reasons they why they were not able to defeat the Giants over the weekend.
The following slideshow is a preview of what to expect in the Diamondbacks vs. Dodgers series.

Pitching Match up No.1
Trevor Cahill seems to have found his pitching groove and has been very impressive in his last two starts. The reason for his success is that he is commanding his sinker better against the opposition.
Chris Capuano will be making his first start since coming off the disabled list for a strained calf muscle. The Dodgers are in need of a strong start from him because of all the injuries their starting rotation has suffered.
Pitching Match up No.2
Brandon McCarthy pitched well in last start, but the bullpen blew the game for him. McCarthy is still seeking his first win of the season, and in his only career start against the Dodgers, he threw seven scoreless innings.
Josh Beckett has had problems this season with giving up too many HR's, as indicated by his 5.24 ERA. Another issue for him this season is that he has not pitched well when there have been men on base.
Pitching Match up No.3
Wade Miley has struggled with his command in his last two starts for Arizona, as indicated by his 10 walks in that span. Miley did show great command early in the season, so this is just rough patch he is going through.
Clayton Kershaw has been dominant this season, as indicated by his 1.66 ERA this season. The reason for his success is that he has located his pitches with great efficiency.
Key Diamondbacks Player No.1
A.J. Pollock has been one of the bright spots in the Diamondbacks line up this season, and has shown that he has all of the skills to be an everyday player for the team.
Key Diamondbacks Player No.2
Didi Gregorius has provided a spark that the Diamondbacks have needed on offense. He has also shown the many different ways that he can impact a game.
