2013 MLB Winter Meetings: 10 Blockbuster Deals That Fans Would Want
10 Blockbuster Deals That Fans Would Love to See
The 2013 MLB season is over and the Boston Red Sox have won the World Series and it looks like they might be the favorites, or one of the favorites, next season with the amount of moves they have been trying to make this offseason. With the caliber of players the reigning champs are attempting to make moves to get, it wouldn't be surprising if they won yet another title in 2014 or in the upcoming years.
After losing Jacoby Ellsbury to the rival New York Yankees, it would't be a stretch to say the Red Sox are willing to pay big bucks to replace him in the outfield with some young talent or maybe even a superstar.
The offseason has been interesting already as a few blockbuster deals have already gone down as the Detroit Tigers seem to be involved in most of the moves. Detroit signed closer Joe Nathan to replace free agent Joaquin Benoit who was the closer for the team a season ago -- he was also extremely inconsistent in the 2013 postseason which led to their demise in the ALCS.
Crazy thing is, that's not the only deal the Tigers have made this offseason -- not even close. They have also traded Prince Fielder, the superstar first baseman, to the Texas Rangers for second baseman Ian Kinsler. This opened some eyes because no one saw it coming. Doug Fister was also traded away by Detroit as the team looks to be opening up cap space for some huge free agent signings this offseason.
The 2013-14 offseason is still very young and the winter meetings are quickly approaching. It's time to take a look at 10 blockbuster deals that fans of baseball would love to see happen and could very well happen. Let me know who I've missed.

David Price to Seattle Mariners
The Seattle Mariners are showing major interest in Tampa Bay Rays' ace David Price and that could be very interesting to see him join Felix Hernandez in 2014. The Mariners are looking to make major deals and they would be serious contenders with a trade like this.
Pablo Sandoval to New York Yankees
The San Francisco Giants reportedly said they were open to trade talks of Pablo Sanodval. The hefty third baseman's contract is almost up and the Yankees seem like a fit for him -- especially if Alex Rodriguez ends up with a suspension. Yes, an Evil Empire trade would be good for baseball.
