Sad news out of the Dominican Republic today, as details of Oscar Taveras’ death have been revealed. It turns out that the up-and-coming MLB prospect had a blood-alcohol level of five times the legal limit.
As if his passing wasn’t tragic enough, given his bright future and the fact that his 18-year old girlfriend also lost her life, this news puts an extra sad stamp on things. It goes to show, yet again, that alcohol and getting behind the wheel do not mix.
