5. Ian Kinsler, 2B

A four-time All-Star already, Ian Kinsler has done nothing to hurt his chances of participating in a fifth Midsummer Classic by slashing .318/.386/.411 over his first 38 games. Kinsler can be expected to face quite a bit of competition at the second base position this year from players such as Jason Kipnis, Jose Altuve and Dustin Pedroia, but he should certainly stand a chance to crack the roster.

4. Jose Iglesias, SS

After missing the entire 2014 season, Tigers fans couldn't wait to see Jose Iglesias return to shortstop this year. Although he had already established himself as a terrific defensive player, Iglesias is proving to be a force with the bat as well. The 25-year-old may not have much power, but he is currently tied for second in the AL with a .346 BA. His 1.4 fWAR ranks first among all AL shortstops.

Through 18 appearances this year, closer Joakim Soria has gone 2-0 with a 1.06 ERA and an 0.65 WHIP. He has also recorded 12 saves in as many opportunities. The 31-year-old should have a solid chance to make his third All-Star team.

2. David Price, SP

Now the ace of Detroit's staff, David Price has gone 3-1 with a 3.40 ERA and a 1.25 WHIP over eight starts this year, and he should have a strong chance to make his fifth All-Star team. It is possible that Price could even be a candidate to start for the AL, which is something he did back in 2010 during his tenure with the Tampa Bay Rays.

1. Miguel Cabrera, 1B

Fresh off of career home run No. 400, Miguel Cabrera appears to be a near-lock to make his 10th All-Star team this year. Look for Cabrera to be the AL's starting first baseman for the second consecutive year.
