5 Milwaukee Brewers Who Should Be Dealt Before the 2015 Trade Deadline

With the worst record in baseball, there’s no doubt that the Milwaukee Brewers should be in rebuilding mode, meaning they could have a fire sale this summer. The Brewers have plenty of players to offer in trades, and here are the five guys they could use to help jump-start their rebuilding project.

Things are winding down for Ramirez, and it'd be wasteful for him to spend the rest of the season with the Brewers, who are already out of contention for all intents and purposes. His numbers aren't great this year, but he still has plenty of power in his bat, making him a good addition to a contending team. Ramirez would be great in the AL, where he could DH, while the Brewers could get something decent in return if they trade him.

A closer like K-Rod is wasted on a team like the Brewers, so it'd be foolish for Milwaukee not to find some suitors for him. He's quietly had a good year, and even though he's still under contract for next season, it may be worthwhile for the Brewers to cash in on him while his value is high.

Parra is having one of the best seasons of his career, and since he's a free agent after the season, the Brewers have to consider trading him. If he can remain productive for another month or so, his value should be high when trade season arrives, giving the Brewers a chance to get something substantial for him if they don't think they're going to sign him long term.

2. Ryan Braun

The money left on Braun's contract is going to be really difficult for the Brewers to unload, but if they can get the numbers worked out, there'll be a healthy market for him. Braun's history with PEDs shouldn't be a huge issue for teams that need offense, as he has an OPS that's close to .900. The length of Braun's contract could scare some teams away, but his numbers this year indicate his performance isn't dipping yet.

1. Carlos Gomez

Gomez is under contract through 2016, but he may not want to stay in Milwaukee long term, so it could make sense for the Brewers to trade him. His numbers are a little down this year, but a player like Gomez in his prime could demand a hefty sum in a trade. If the market develops in Milwaukee's favor, trading Gomez could give the Brewers several pieces on which to build, making a trade of Gomez a realistic possibility.

Milwaukee Brewers' Rymer Liriano Hit In Face With Pitch

The Milwaukee Brewers caught a tough break on Sunday when 24-year-old outfielder Rymer Liriano was hit square in the face with a pitch by Matt West of the Los Angeles Dodgers. The Dominican outfielder, who was fighting for a roster spot with center field vacant in Milwaukee, suffered multiple facial fractures and is out indefinitely.
