Colorado Rockies shortstop Jose Reyes was arrested in Hawaii on Halloween for allegedly grabbing his wife by the throat and shoving her into a sliding glass door. The incident happened at the Four Seasons Hualalai, and Reyes was arrested after security called police.

The Rockies released this statement on the incident:

According to the new agreement between MLB and MLBPA, commissioner Rob Manfred can place Reyes on administrative leave for a week before assessing punishment, but with it happening in the offseason, expect the league to wait until more details emerge.

Reyes is coming off of a season where he hit .274 with a .310 OBP, seven home runs and 53 RBIs in 116 games. He was dealt to the Rockies midseason in the trade that sent Troy Tulowitzki to the Toronto Blue Jays.
