Giants Pitcher Madison Bumgarner Clobbers Two Dingers On Opening Day

By Timothy Downs

San Francisco Giants superstar Madison Bumgarner clobbered two dingers against the Arizona Diamondbacks on Sunday, becoming the first pitcher in MLB history to do so on Opening Day.

Bumgarner’s first homer occurred in the fifth-inning off Diamondbacks ace Zack Greinke.

In the seventh-inning, MadBum took reliever Andrew Chafin deep.

Bumgarner put forth an incredibly solid effort on the mound as well, tossing seven innings of three-run ball with 11 strikeouts.

Sadly, Giants closer Mark Melancon blew the save and ultimately took the loss as Arizona came down from one-run down in the ninth to secure a 6-5 win.
