Luke Rockhold’s Stock Has Gone Sky High
When you see fighters from other organizations start to really dominate their class, the question that always comes up is, “Well, how would they do in the UFC?” I have to tell you that must absolutely get those guys mad. Here they are, doing the best with what they have and they are getting compared to people that they will probably never have the chance to compete against. Luckily, when we asked those questions about the Strikeforce guys, we are now able to get some answers, and Luke Rockhold is now more than willing to help us find those solutions.
After a massive loss to Vitor Belfort, Rockhold has now found his groove in the UFC. In an absolutely dominant performance against Michael Bisping, Rockhold has now shown the UFC what he has to offer and his stock has gone sky high. Did we all see Rockhold winning this fight against Bisping? Yeah, I can say that I did. What I did not see was just how easy Rockhold would make it seem. And in the UFC, the style in how you finish a fight means a lot and Rockhold had style in that fight.
So now the question is, what’s next for Rockhold? A shot against reigning champion Chris Weidman? I would holster those guns for now, cowboy. Rockhold still has at least one more fight until he gets the coveted title shot. A bout with Jacare Souza? Yeah, that’s a possibility and that fight would be a lot of fun. I would personally like to see him fight Lyoto Machida just because I think that would be an amazing matchup.
Whatever comes next, Rockhold has now solidified himself in the UFC as a contender, and that has to feel pretty good.
