Orlando Magic Need A Star

Orlando Magic

Although Dwight Howard was not the only good player on the team when he played for the Orlando Magic, he was the star. Every team needs a star and Orlando is no exception to the rule.

Unfortunately, it does not look like it will have that player in the upcoming season. There is not one single player on this team that people can look at and really consider a star.

There is a bunch of young talent, though. Arron Afflalo is coming off of a season where he averaged 16.5 points per game. Scoring that much or more in the upcoming NBA season will be a must.

Tobias Harris is another young and talented player on the Magic. He may have averaged 11 points per game on the season, but once he was traded to Orlando, he managed to score 17.3 points per game.

Him and Afflalo could both have some great seasons for the team in the upcoming one. As good as both are, though, neither are necessarily looked at as stars–at least not yet.

Having a star is so big for any team nowadays. Just ask the Miami Heat that, who have won the last two NBA championships. They have a couple of stars, but still.

Whether if it is going to come from the draft or a trade, Orlando needs a star player. Hopefully Victor Oladipo can be that guy, but we will have to wait and see about that one.

The roster may not look amazing and finding a star on the team may not be possible right now, but that tends to be the case when a team is in rebuilding mode.
