Why LeBron James Will Return to Cleveland Cavaliers in 2014

Steve Mitchell- USA TODAY Sports

It’s been across the news that LeBron James will spend Thanksgiving hosting his Miami Heat teammates at his Ohio home, but could he return there for good when (and if) he becomes a free agent in 2014? The once impossible return rumor has some serious depth behind it now.

LeBron wanted help during his last spell as a member of the Cleveland Cavaliers, and this time he’d have it in the form of his young friends, Kyrie Irving and Tristan Thompson. Both are talented, young stars that could really blossom alongside LeBron. He made his friendship with the pair well known during the 2012-13 season, and with Dwyane Wade and Chris Bosh aging why not go and play with younger, healthier friends?

Many have stated the fans and their aggression as a key factor for LeBron to avoid returning to Cleveland, but a large amount have forgiven him. Some have even held campaigns and advertisements to bring him home. The fans had a massive hatred for the superstar after he left for Miami, but perhaps if he was to come back and bring the franchise to the top of the NBA again they would be willing to accept his return. He did win championships in Miami, which was inevitably a key reason in his departure, so maybe a return would carry less pressure now.

With talent in Cleveland and the fans wanting his return, will LeBron make amends and return to his first NBA team?

On Wednesday night, the Los Angeles Lakers made a fourth-quarter comeback against the Cleveland Cavaliers, but ultimately lost 120-111. Unfortunately, along the way, rookie point guard D'Angelo Russell was struck in the groin by an errant pass at the hands of LeBron James, and ended up on the floor in quite a bit of agony as any man would. Thankfully, after leaving the game for a few minutes, Russell was able to return.

Kyrie Irving is obviously very talented, and but this spin move to get open for a jump shot taught a Boston Celtics player not to be overly aggressive when closing out.
