The Indiana Pacers have one of the deepest and richest histories of any NBA team. They were the most successful team ever in the ABA by winning three championships, and have continued to be prominent in today’s NBA. The organization has consistently put phenomenal players on the court, and they have a total of five Hall-of-Famers. These are the five best small forwards in Pacers history, with an honorable mention going to Jalen Rose.

The fifth-best small forward in Pacers history played for the team from 1989-1993. Schrempf was a very valuable player and won the NBA’s Sixth Man of the Year Award two seasons in row, which were his last two seasons with Indiana. The final season he played with the team proved to be his best overall as he was named an NBA All-Star.

The current NBA veteran was once Indiana’s best player for many years earlier in his career. He was a member of the Pacers from 2005-2014 and was a consistent force for the team. Granger was an NBA All-Star in 2009 and won the NBA’s Most Improved Player Award that same season. He averaged at least 20 points per game in four straight seasons for the Pacers, reaching his career-high of 25.8 in his All-Star season.

In eight seasons with Indiana from 1986-1992, Person proved to be one of the most respected small forwards in the NBA. He was known for his dependable outside shooting ability and competitiveness. In his first season, he was named the NBA Rookie of the Year and made the All-Rookie First Team. He ranks third all-time in points per game and fifth in 3-point field goals made in Pacers history.

Knight played a total of eight seasons in both the ABA and NBA for Indiana. His best years were in his ABA days, where he averaged 28.1 PPG, 10.1 RPG and 3.7 APG during the 1975-76 season. He also made the All-ABA First Team that same season and was an All-Star in both leagues. Knight ranks in the top 10 all-time in over a dozen categories for the Pacers, including points, player efficiency rating and field goal percentage.

The best small forward in Indiana Pacers history was a member of three Pacers ABA championship teams, and was named ABA Playoffs MVP in 1970. Brown was inducted into the Hall of Fame in 2013 and was a four-time ABA All-Star. He also made several All-ABA teams and is on the ABA All-Time Team. Brown was a legendary player whose No. 35 jersey was retired by the Indiana Pacers organization.
