The Atlanta Hawks have started the season better than most expected, despite controversy surrounding their General Manager Danny Ferry. Their surprising run looks like it will come at a cost with rumors hinting a possible trade of Al Horford or Paul Millsap. Both have been integral parts of their success and these five players will look to continue that success, assuming a trade does go through.

The New York Knicks will be looking to clean house soon, so the Hawks should take a look at an underrated big man in Jason Smith. He played a bigger role with his previous stint with the New Orleans Pelicans. The 7-footer can shoot the deep ball, play in the post, and has a mid-range jumper. His addition would provide depth for the Atlanta bench, which they lack in the frontcourt.

It seems that Tim Hardaway Jr. has struck a negative cord with Carmelo Anthony, so it only a matter of time before he's out of New York. Hardaway could fit well in Atlanta, providing three-point shooting to the No. 6 three-point shooting team in the NBA. Hawks' reserves like Kent Bazemore and John Jenkins are possible pieces in the trade puzzle.

Since the departure of Rajon Rando, things haven't been the same for the Boston Celtics. One thing that has seemed to change is the relationship of the team and Brandon Bass. His minutes have dropped and reports are confirming his unhappiness. The Hawks could make good use of Bass to beef up their average frontcourt.

The Atlanta Hawks have been looking to strike a deal for Greg Monroe for sometime now. The original deal didn't work because of Atlanta's unwillingness to give up Jeff Teague. If the Hawks change their mind or the Detroit Pistons look to pick up the likes of Al Horford or Paul Millsap, the trade would easily improve both sides. Monroe is one of the best big men in the game in his young career.

Would Al Horford work as a Denver Nugget? With the Nuggets looking to move Kenneth Faried and the Hawks looking to move Horford, it's only right that these teams would consider a trade. Faried can be a franchise player in Atlanta and Horford could easily be a franchise player for Denver. It's a win-win situation for both teams.
