The NBA Slam Dunk Contest hasn't quite lived up to the hype over the past few years, but this year could be very entertaining. Here are my five bold predictions for what's in store with the contest this year.

5. High Ratings

The contest hasn't been too popular in recent years due to format switching and poor performances. This year the contest goes back to the "glory days" format of two rounds and a final face-off. The ratings will be higher than we've seen in years.

Zach LaVine is the favorite to win according to Bovada, but Victor Oladipo will beat him out in the first round. Most people assume LaVine will blow through the competition due to his past dunk performances, but Oladipo is a superb athlete who should give LaVine a run for his money.

Giannis Antetokounmpo will do a free throw line dunk this year, and make it look easy. He's tall, has a huge wingspan and can fly. Free throw line dunks used to be so uncommon, but this year the "Greek Freak" will soar from the line with ease.

2. Plumlee Will Miss First Two Dunks

Mason Plumlee is the favorite to come in last this year, and I think he will do just that. Each participant gets three attempts in their first two dunks. I predict he will try too hard to keep up with the guards and miss his first two attempts each round, leaving himself with a conservative and low-scoring dunk each time.

The winner of the 2015 Slam Dunk contest will be the Greek Freak. He will glide through the air with his length, and his over 7-foot-4 wingspan will show us some amazing dunks we haven't seen in a long time.
