Building the 2015 NBA All-Snub Team

The 2015 NBA All-Snub Team

The NBA All-Star Game is a time to celebrate the NBA's best, but with only so many spots to fill and a selection process where fans text their votes with no accountability, sometimes the best don't end up making the team. In that spirit, we present the All-Snub Team: the players that could easily make a case as being amongst the best in the NBA this year.

If the season ended today, the Bucks would be in the playoffs and that's largely due to Brandon Knight. The PG has been the most consistent part of Milwaukee's attack this year and he's putting up career highs in every single category. The East is already stacked with point guards, though. Maybe next year, Brandon.

The Good German has been to twelve All-Star Games but lucky number thirteen isn't in the cards this year as Tim Duncan will be the only player over 30 on the Western Conference team this year. Sure, Nowitzki's numbers have dropped off at age 36, but if Durant can make it in after only playing a quarter of the season, Dirk should be guaranteed a spot based on legacy alone.

Nikola Vucevic, Orlando Magic

One of the most overlooked players in all of pro hoops, Vucevic is in the top ten of all NBA centers in points, rebounds, assists, and field goal percentage. He's boosted his scoring average by five points this season and he's quietly become the best, most consistent player on the Magic. If he played in a major market, Vuc would easily be on the All-Star team

Mike Conley, Memphis Grizzlies

Despite leading the third-best team in the NBA, Conley can't get any All-Star love. You can chalk it up to too many great PGs in the league right now. You can chalk it up to playing in Memphis instead of LA. You can blame it on any number of reasons, but the fact remains the same: Mike Conley should have made the All-Star team this year.

Al Jefferson, Charlotte Hornets

Big Al has taken a Charlotte Hornets team from the laughingstock of the NBA to a playoff team and he still can't get named to his first All-Star team. That's rough. At age 30, he's still grinding hard and with his history of knee problems, there's no telling when the ride may stop. Make this guy an All-Star soon or the city of Charlotte will collectively revolt.

Greg Monroe/Andre Drummond, Detroit Pistons

Another big snub. Actually, two snubs. Greg Monroe and Andre Drummond are a fearsome force in the paint for Detriot. They're so good together, in fact, that there's a good chance their snub comes from the fact that you can't pick just one. Since Detroit has played so poorly this year and both players are under 25, All-Star voters may have just decided to give someone else a chance.

Monta Ellis, Dallas Mavericks

Monta's been known as a chucker his whole career, but after shooting over .450 with 20ppg, you'd think it would be time to recognize one of the game's best scorers. Ellis's style of play is perfect for the All-Star Game and his circus shots would wow the crowd again and again. The All-Star team isn't picked off of entertainment value, so Monta will be forced to sit out another ASG.

Zach Randolph, Memphis Grizzlies

Poor Z-Bo. He's the epitome of a hard hat-lunchpail kind of guy, but Marc Gasol grabs all of the headlines in Memphis. That doesn't change the fact that Randolph is averaging a double-double for the tenth season. While Gasol is starting (against his brother, no less!), Z-Bo can commiserate with teammate Mike Conley.

Kyle Korver, Atlanta Hawks

At 33, Korver's having the best season of his career and he's helped the Hawks become the story of the season. He's leading the league in three-point percentage by a massive margin and while that's good enough to get him into the Three-Point Contest, it's apparently not enough to earn a spot on the All-Star Team.

Update: Korver was named as a replacement for Dwyane Wade.
