2015 NBA Draft: 5 Players the Orlando Magic Should Target

The 2015 NBA Draft is more than three months away, but it's not too early to look into potential draft picks that each team should target. One of those teams is the Orlando Magic and they currently have an 8.8-percent chance of winning the top pick in the draft. Their biggest need right now is a shooter who can stretch the floor and play both the SG and SF positions. With that being said, let's look at five players who they should target.

5. Jahlil Okafor - PF/C - Duke University

If the Orlando Magic end up with the No. 1 pick in the draft, it would be silly for them not to consider taking Jahlil Okafor. He was considered the consensus top overall prospect at the beginning of the 2014-15 college basketball season and that hasn't changed as we are about to enter March Madness. If selected, he would give the Magic an insane twin towers combination when paired up with Nikola Vucevic.

4. Caris LeVert - SF - University of Michigan

If the Magic end up selecting Jahlil Okafor with the No. 1 pick, then they would be able to resolve their biggest need for a hybrid wing that can play SG and SF with Caris LeVert. He is a versatile swingman with a good shooting touch and excellent athleticism. If Orlando is fortunate enough to end up in this situation, then their gradual progression toward true relevance again will begin to speed up.

3. Kristaps Porzingis - SF/PF - Latvia

Now that we've covered the best-case scenario for Orlando, let's take a look at the most likely scenario. They're currently projected to have the fifth overall selection in the draft and an intriguing prospect that they could go with his Kristaps Porzingis from Latvia. He's more of a hybrid SF/PF than a SG/SF, but he possesses the good shooting touch, athleticism and floor-stretching ability that the team needs. He would be a helpful addition.

2. Mario Hezonja - SF - Croatia

Say hello to the new Crotian sensation, Mario Hezonja. When it comes to the Orlando Magic's immediate needs, he has the whole package. He's a good shooter with deep range and can score from anywhere on the floor. Additionally, he's an explosive leaper which compliments his long, athletic frame. There are some concerns with him in regards to his reported selfishness, so hopefully he works on that before the draft.

Some may argue that Hezonja has more upside than Stanley Johnson, but I feel that Johnson's addition to the Magic roster would provide a quicker payoff and he doesn't come with the selfishness issues that Hezonja allegedly has. He has an NBA body, excellent athleticism and is on the attack at all times with a nonstop motor. His shooting could use more consistency, but that can be resolved with more reps. He should be Orlando's top target.
