5 Players Hornets Should Target In NBA Draft

The Charlotte Hornets are one of the many teams in the race for the final spots in the Eastern Conference playoffs. The great part about this playoff race is that the teams that don't make it will have a good chance of getting a top eight pick. The Hornets have some definite needs and here are five prospects they should keep an eye on for the 2015 NBA draft.

Christian Wood would be a developmental pick for the Hornets. Wood fits the mold of the new age forward who can stretch the floor with his jumper. He will have to put on some weight to compete at the next level, but he has shown the ability to rebound and block shots in college.

4. Sam Dekker, SF, Wisconsin

The biggest need for the Hornets is wing players. Sam Dekker can do a little bit of everything at the small forward spot. I think he will be a solid starting caliber player for a lot of years. He has a chance to be similar to Gordon Hayward, which the Hornets went after in free agency last offseason.

3. Kelly Oubre, SF, Kansas

Kelly Oubre is one of the prospects that you are hoping will be a better pro than college player. He has had his ups and downs as a freshman after being one of the top recruits in the nation. Some of his struggles are likely due to the slow pace of the college game. Oubre is definitely someone to keep an eye on because of his all-around talent level.

2. Devin Booker, SG, Kentucky

Charlotte doesn't have the personnel to score with the top offenses in the league. The best thing that Devin Booker does is score points. He has a ways to go in terms of developing an all-around game, but his natural ability to score is something the Hornets need.

1. Justise Winslow, SF, Duke

The Hornets would probably have to miss the playoffs to have a chance at Justise Winslow. He is the exact kind of player they are missing on their roster. Winslow can score from all over the court and can also be a good playmaker.
