2015 NBA Draft: 5 Best Fits For the Charlotte Hornets

The Charlotte Hornets flirted with the playoffs for most of the season before bottoming out the final month of the year. The result of their late-season plunge will be the No. 9 overall pick in the draft unless they move up in the lottery. The Hornets have some obvious needs that they need to address. Here are the five best fits for Charlotte in the 2015 NBA Draft.

5. Bobby Portis, PF, Arkansas

Bobby Portis will fit perfectly into the current state of the NBA. Most teams want to spread the court which requires having versatile big guys. Portis spent a lot of time in the paint in college but showed the ability to step out and hit jump shots. Al Jefferson is only under contract for one more year, so the Hornets may look to add a big man like Portis.

Devin Booker is one of the best shooters in the draft, which is something the Hornets desperately need. At times, he was hidden on Kentucky's crowded roster but should have a chance to rise up boards during the pre-draft process. Charlotte has made the fourth fewest three-pointers in the league this season.

3. Sam Dekker, SF, Wisconsin

Sam Dekker opened a lot of eyes during the NCAA tournament with an impressive all-around offensive repertoire. The Hornets could really use a wing player like Dekker. They tried to sign Gordon Hayward last offseason, and Dekker compares similarly to him.

2. Kelly Oubre, SF, Kansas

Kelly Oubre had a somewhat disappointing freshman year at Kansas. That shouldn't be a huge red flag, because certain players just don't fit into the college game. The NBA game will be a much more natural fit for Oubre where he can show off his athleticism. Charlotte lacks talent at the two wing spots, and Oubre should be able to play both positions.

1. Justise Winslow, SF, Duke

The Hornets might have to get lucky in the lottery to get Justise Winslow, but he would be the perfect fit for them. Winslow can do a little bit of everything. They thought they were getting a player like this with Lance Stephenson, but that clearly hasn't worked. Winslow would make an immediate impact on the Hornets.
