5 Players the Denver Nuggets Should Consider Trading This Offseason

The Denver Nuggets have missed the playoffs two years in a row. The team has some talented players, but one thing they are lacking is depth. There are some players on the current roster who could yield a nice return if traded. Here are some players the Nuggets may want to consider moving on from while the opportunity exists.

Hickson saw a decrease in his minutes and production from the previous year. However, he was second to only Kenneth Faried in rebounds per game for Denver. Hickson's ability to rebound could make him an enticing option for other teams. He's not a threat to put up a lot of points, but he can pile up rebounds in limited minutes. The Nuggets, though, need more scoring off of their bench and Hickson won't be able to provide that.

4. Will Barton

Barton took advantage of his increase in minutes after being traded from Portland. He provided some strong scoring and rebounding efforts off of the bench for Denver. The Nuggets have a wealth of small forwards already, though, and Barton is the least proven of the three. Barton is still young and with the right situation and coach, could take another step forward in his development next year. That could make him desirable to other teams.

3. Randy Foye

Foye posted career lows in just about every category last year. He was hampered by a quad injury early in the year but towards the end of the season he picked up some steam and finished strong. Foye still has ability to score in bunches, although he is not always very efficient. The departure of Foye would also give guys like Gary Harris and Erick Green an opportunity to develop.

2. Wilson Chandler

Both Chandler and Danilo Gallinari have one year left on their contract. The Nuggets likely won't bring them both back. Gallinari is a better, more consistent option. Chandler is an explosive scorer with the ability to pour in 30 points any night. However, the next night he could score four. Chandler provides value as both a starter or a reserve and could help the Nuggets get a younger player or a couple of draft picks in return.

1. Ty Lawson

Lawson provides a great balance of youth and experience. He also may have already hinted via Instagram that he's looking for a trade. Denver has to try and move him before he becomes more vocal. If Lawson starts demanding a trade, it forces Denver's hand and influences what the team can ask for in return. The Nuggets should try to move Lawson while they are in control and he still commands some draft picks and a player in return.

Grizzlies' Chalmers Takes Cheap Shot At Nurkic

Since arriving in the NBA as a rookie out of Kansas, Mario Chalmers has had a tough road to climb as he's never really gotten a true opportunity to be the top guy. Now with Memphis, he's had an opportunity to start a few games with Mike Conley battling a back injury, but he shows in this video that he's still too immature to take advantage.
