2015 NBA Draft: 5 Prospects Boston Celtics Must Avoid

Not every prospect entering the NBA Draft is desired by all 30 teams. Each prospect may have skills, but those skill sets sometimes will only be successful on certain teams with a particular style of play. Other players could benefit from another year of college but instead leave early to chase their NBA dream. These five players either have skill sets that would not fit well on the Boston Celtics or are simply not NBA-ready.

Kaminsky's style is similar to that of Kelly Olynyk's. He's gifted offensively for a guy his size, but like Olynyk he lacks athleticism and physicality. The Celtics need somebody who won't be pushed around inside and can protect the rim. Kaminsky is also older than most prospects, so his ceiling may not be as high as others. He may be a good fit somewhere, just not with the Celtics.

4. Cliff Alexander

Alexander was suspended for the final 10 games of last season in the midst of an NCAA investigation. Many believe that had he returned for his sophomore year, he would have faced some type of discipline, so he declared for the NBA Draft to avoid it. No way is he NBA ready and his performance in his lone year at Kansas proves it. The Celtics can't afford to waste a pick on a player who won't be able to contribute immediately.

Many scouts feel McCullough is entering the NBA Draft too early. His freshman year at Syracuse was defined by inconsistency and it was capped off by a torn ACL. McCullough could benefit from another year -- a full one too -- in college. He'll need to add some muscle if he wants to last in the NBA. McCullough will almost certainly begin his career in the D-League.

2. Kelly Oubre

Oubre is considered to be a work in progress with great potential after an up-and-down season at Kansas. However, the Celtics already have a future small forward in James Young. The two have similar builds and styles of play. Both are gifted players offensively but need to work on their defense. The Celtics should focus their time and attention on Young and give him an opportunity to develop before they take on another project.

Upshaw's on-court potential is marred by numerous red flags off of it. He has been dismissed from two college programs in the past two years, with drug use an issue that led to one of them. To further complicate matters, his workouts at the NBA Draft Combine were suspended due to a heart issue. Though Upshaw has previously been cleared by doctors, it just adds to a list of complications that will make teams think twice about drafting him.

Dwight Howard Requests Dab From Young Fan In Exchange For Jersey

Dwight Howard is oftentimes criticized for being a diva, and I'm sure some of it is warranted. However, during Houston's recent trip to Boston, he did something pretty awesome. Howard gave a young Celtics fan his jersey in exchange for a dab, and it clearly made the kid's day.

Celtics' Hunter Can't Believe Isaiah Thomas Denied Handshake

Things aren't easy for NBA rookies. Not only do many of them not get to play much, but they also don't get an incredible amount of respect from their veteran teammates. This was the case recently for former Georgia State standout R.J. Hunter, who was savagely rejected by Isaiah Thomas when he offered him a congratulatory handshake.

Watch Isaiah Thomas' Behind-The-Head Kickout For Three-Pointer

Isaiah Thomas may have wanted to get all the way to the rim, but his no-look, behind-the-head pass to an open teammate is a candidate for assist of the year in the NBA.
