Karl-Anthony Towns has been getting a ton of NBA draft buzz ever since he became a member of the Kentucky Wildcats. As a result, many people (including myself) have been predicting him to go No. 1 overall in the 2015 NBA Draft, which goes down this Thursday.
In the non-shocking news of the day, the Minnesota Timberwolves have informed Towns that he will be the first player off the board, according to zagsblog.com.
Of course, there’s always that chance that this doesn’t happen. If that is the case, fans far and wide would likely be very shocked.

Jahlil Okafor and Towns have been (metaphorically) battling it out for the No. 1 pick. It always seemed like Towns had the edge, and that is 100 percent true now.
Other players Minnesota could take No. 1 overall: Okafor and D’Angelo Russell — that is really it. Emmanuel Mudiay is another one (he has a boatload of talent and upside), but he would be a huge stretch.
Towns didn’t lead the nation in scoring, but he also played on a very, very, very stacked Kentucky team. The talent and potential with Towns is very high, he is a man with no weaknesses (he can even drain threes!) and he is a worthy No. 1 overall pick.
