Lance Stephenson Should Stop Rapping and Focus On Basketball

The Los Angeles Clippers traded for shooting guard Lance Stephenson a couple weeks ago, and they’re hoping he can bring a new dimension to their team. They brought him in to play basketball, but lately he’s been trying to perfect his craft as a recording artist. Stephenson just recently dropped a new rap song entitled ‘Poppin’.

Of all the times to be writing new songs, this definitely is not it. Stephenson was extremely disappointing in his first season with the Charlotte Hornets, averaging just 8.2 points, 3.9 assists and 4.5 rebounds per game. He also shot a measly 37.6 percent from the field and 17.1 percent from behind the arc. Stephenson’s rapper name is Born Ready, but he clearly wasn’t born ready for Charlotte, as evidenced by his mediocre performance.

To be honest, Stephenson’s music isn’t all that bad, but if he is seriously pursuing a career as a professional basketball player, it’s about time he starts acting like it. There is nothing wrong with having an outlet outside of basketball, but he doesn’t need to be in the recording studio when he can’t even produce a consistent jump shot.

Stephenson should be more concerned with getting in the gym and becoming a better basketball player, as opposed to crafting lyrics that won’t win him a Grammy. Put down the pen and pick up a ball, Lance.

So much more is expected of him than what he’s produced. Rappers get clowned regularly for not living the life they portray in their music. Stephenson raps about his skills on the court in the song. Well, for his sake and the that of the Clippers, he better back it up.

Watch Clippers' Redick Hit Amazing Buzzer-Beater To Beat Blazers

The Portland Trail Blazers knew where the ball was going on the final play and did a tremendous job of forcing J.J. Redick into a tough shot. Unfortunately, Redick one of the best shooters in the league, and he canned the jumper at the buzzer to give the Los Angeles Clippers a much-needed victory.

Clippers' Austin Rivers Brutally Rejected By Rim On Dunk Attempt

There's always something that can be learned from making a mistake. For Los Angeles Clippers guard Austin Rivers, it's important he understands he mustn't ever attempt to dunk a basketball in an NBA game ever again after this massive rim rejection. I'm sure his father, Clippers head coach Doc Rivers, will have a talk with him about this unfortunate scenario.
