There are rumors suggesting shooting guard Dwyane Wade intends to sign with a new team in free agency. The possibility of Wade departing will remain as long as other teams continue to show interest in the veteran. However, the Miami Heat have put together a solid group of four players, headlined by point guard Goran Dragic signing a five-year, $90 million deal, that should convince the superstar to finish his career in South Beach.

Prior to the NBA trade deadline, Dragic forced the hand of the Phoenix Suns to send him to Miami. The Heat knew there was a chance he would leave immediately in free agency this summer, but they gambled on him staying. Of course, enticing his decision with a near maximum contract is exactly what was necessary for Dragic to re-sign with the Heat for the foreseeable future.

By Dragic accepting a five-year deal at $90 million with a player option on the fifth year, Miami has more financial flexibility to pay Wade. Plus, a lineup that consists of Dragic, Chris Bosh, Luol Deng and Hassan Whiteside should prove to Wade that the team is dedicated to being a contender in the Eastern Conference next season.

Some believe Dragic getting paid $90 million is over the top. Even though his numbers dipped down last season, the decrease in production can be explained by continuous injuries. Dragic is a proven talent who makes the players around him better. There is plenty of reason to believe he will be playing at the same level as he did with the Suns during the 2013-14 season.
