5 Easy Steps To Fix The Indiana Pacers Going Into 2015-16
Brian Spurlock-USA TODAY Sports
The Indiana Pacers just barely missed the playoffs after reaching the Eastern Conference Finals only a year before. Now they have some work to do if they want to get back to that point, especially with the strength of the Cleveland Cavaliers. Here are five easy steps the Pacers should take toward reclaiming their spot at the top of the East.

For years, the Pacers have had George Hill as their starting point guard. Hill is solid, but he is a defender who doesn’t have the mindset that most point guards are born with. With Rajon Rondo going to the Sacramento Kings, the Pacers should look at the availability of Darren Collison and perhaps bring him back.

The Pacers have always been a lumbering team, especially with David West and Roy Hibbert as the two main frontcourt players. The team was 19th out of the 30 NBA teams in terms of pace. If the Pacers want to win, they are going to have to make a commitment to a speedier lineup.
3. Bring in Another Veteran

West decided to take less money and go to the San Antonio Spurs just because he wanted to win. Although West is aging, his veteran presence is always welcome. The Pacers should try to get another veteran like West, perhaps someone like Kendrick Perkins.
2. Replace Roy Hibbert

With Hibbert expected to go to the Los Angeles Lakers, the Pacers need a replacement. And even though Hibbert didn’t live up to expectations, he was a rim protector who changed shots. The Pacers selected center Myles Turner in the draft, and he didn’t disappoint when he scored 20 points in his Summer League debut. Turner even has the ability to stretch the floor with his jump shot, but can he defend in the paint well enough?
1. Get Paul George Back Healthy

Paul George came back late in the season in order to help the Pacers in their late-season push for the playoffs, but the Pacers didn’t have enough and George wasn’t near 100 percent. If George can rest and get back to full health in the offseason, the Pacers are welcoming back an All-Star caliber player who plays elite defense and is still getting better offensively.
