It is no secret that the Philadelphia 76ers have a long way to go before they can even hope for their rebuilding plan to pay off. So whether it is an issue of chemistry or simply just a lack of talent, don’t expect the 76ers to make an appearance in the 2016 NBA Playoffs.

On the basketball court, the point guard is often an extension of his team’s head coach, and most teams that find success in the NBA have at least an above average point guard. With Tony Wroten as their projected opening night starting point guard, the 76ers already appear doomed for the 2015-16 season, as Wroten is not much more than a serviceable bench player in this league.

In the midst of a prolonged rebuilding phase, the 76ers have stocked up on young talent. Because of this, not many of their players have experience in challenging for a spot in the NBA Playoffs. As time goes by, these young players will have a better chance at eventually gaining this experience, just not this year.

In sports, the most talented team doesn’t always win, and each year the world of sports has a team that despite a lack of talent, somehow finds a way to surprise people. For the 76ers, even if their young roster plays to the best of their abilities – which still isn’t much – there are just too many teams in the Eastern Conference that are flat out better than them.

When looking at the 76ers’ 2015-16 roster, it is not hard to see that it is lacking in the talent department. With only a few legitimate NBA players on the roster, it will be awhile before the team can even begin to think about making the playoffs.
