Golden State Warriors’ Festus Ezeli Hilariously Congratulates Eli Manning By Accident

With his North Carolina roots, Stephen Curry‘s favoritism for the Carolina Panthers was obvious and expected heading into Super Bowl 50. But one of his Golden State Warriors teammates, center Festus Ezeli, made a hilarious mistake after the Denver Broncos won on Sunday night.

The Warriors’ big man went to Twitter (since deleted) after the game to say he was happy for Eli Manning while offering props for being a class act and a true professional.

Ezeli later corrected his error, with a tweet congratulating the proper Manning brother.

The younger Manning’s stoic reaction to the Broncos’ game-clinching touchdown makes Ezeli’s error even funnier. In the scope of social media mistakes by athletes, which often tilt toward sensitive areas and border on controversy, we can all laugh about Ezeli’s mistake.
