San Antonio Spurs Sign Veteran F Rudy Gay To Team-Friendly Deal

By Timothy Downs

According to multiple reports, the San Antonio Spurs have signed veteran forward Rudy Gay to a two-year, $17.2 million deal.

Gay, 30, averaged 18.7 points and 6.3 rebounds per game for the Sacramento Kings last season, but his contract year campaign was limited to just 30 games after he ruptured his left Achilles in January.

Just last week, many NBA aficionados were certain Gay was prepared to sign with the Oklahoma City Thunder, especially after Thunder big man Enes Kanter posted this tweet.

Unfortunately for Thunder fans and players alike, Kanter was forced to post another tweet following the Gay news.

The Spurs could now be open to trading PF LaMarcus Aldridge, who is said to be incredibly unhappy in San Antonio.
