North Carolina sophomore P.J. Hairston continues to show signs of life and his stellar play recently has helped recharge the Tar Heels’ batteries after a sluggish start within the ACC.

Well on Wednesday night, Hairston electrified the Tar Heels’ crowd in Chapel Hill, throwing down a vicious dunk in transition as part of UNC’s win over Georgia Tech.

The sophomore guard finished the game with 15 points, but none were more impressive than the two he earned on the throw down.

In the contest, North Carolina got up big and never looked back against a Yellow Jackets’ squad that remains winless in conference play thus far. The victory marked the third consecutive win for the Tar Heels, putting them back into the thick of things within the upper half of the league.

On the same night that marked the first of a three-game suspension for junior guard Leslie McDonald, the Tar Heels got balance and another solid performance from both Hairston and fellow guard Reggie Bullock. The increased production on the perimeter is what may ultimately hold the key for Roy Williams‘ youthful Tar Heels.

A true test on the road is looming for North Carolina this weekend, as the Tar Heels look to keep their winning ways up when they travel to Raleigh on Saturday.

Tip-off between North Carolina and North Carolina State is set for 7:00pm (EST).
