2013 NCAA Tournament Preview: No. 9 Temple vs No. 8 North Carolina State

As a league, the ACC felt slighted by the NCAA Tournament Selection Committee. Many coaches felt that their league deserved more bids than they were awarded and that the Selection Committee overlooked how tough the conference actually was. Notably, or more obviously, most of those coaches were from teams who were snubbed on Selection Sunday.

If the ACC wants to show why everyone is wrong about their league, then winning games in the tournament will prove their point. Example, the North Carolina State Wolfpack vs the Temple Owls.

What to Watch For

Both of these teams can score in bunches. Expect the game to be a heavyweight fight, but instead of punches being traded it will be baskets. Keep an eye on both team’s substitution patters as it might come down to who is fresher towards the end of the second half.

Khalif Wyatt is one of the better 20 points per game players that you’ve never heard of. If Temple wants to advance they will need to survive all the different defensive sets that the Wolfpack send at Wyatt. One way or another this game might come down to how good of a game Wyatt has.

Prediction

When stumped for a pick just rely on nonsense. I live in the state of Pennsylvania, so for lack of a better reason I think Temple hoots their way into another round.
