North Carolina State Adds Transfer Trevor Lacey

With all five starters gone from a very good team last season, North Carolina State was going to need to add some quality players in order to have a couple more good seasons in the next few years.

When Trevor Lacey announced he would transfer from Alabama to North Carolina State, the Wolfpack added a quality player to their roster. Unfortunately for the Wolfpack, Lacey will have to sit out the 2013-14 season because he is a transfer, but then he will play his final two collegiate seasons after that for N.C. State.

Last season, Lacey was Alabama’s second-leading scorer averaging 11.3 points per game as a sophomore for a very good Crimson Tide team. He also contributed with 3.8 rebounds, 3.2 assists and 1.4 steals per game. He is a great scorer, but he can also do the little things to help his team win and that makes him a great addition to any team.

Besides North Carolina State, Lacey also had visited Pittsburgh and considered Miami (FL).  All three of those schools are now ACC schools and it looks like he wanted to join the best conference in America.

With T.J. Warren the key returner for the Wolfpack this season and five new freshman, they might struggle a bit this season, but next year with Lacey eligible to play and the freshman having experience, the Wolfpack can certainly be a great team again.

It will be interesting to see how they do this season, but at least they will always having something to keep looking forward to as they inch closer and closer to Lacey joining the squad.
