Austin Hollins had a great season for the Minnesota Golden Gophers last year, but he needs to have an even better one in the 2013-14 college basketball season.
Hollins may have averaged more points per game at 10.7 per game, but his shooting percentage definitely took a hit. Just take a look at the past two seasons and you will clearly see this.

2012-13 season: 40.5 percent from the field, 33.8 percent from behind the arc
2011-13 season: 45 percent from the field, 37 percent from behind the arc
For Minnesota to be anything in the upcoming season, it is going to need Hollins to have a big season. He needs to become more efficient when it comes to putting the basketball in the hoop and scoring a lot more points would be a plus.
Andre Hollins led the team in scoring this past season, with 14.6 points per game, and he will likely lead the team in points once again.
With a lot of talent leaving, Minnesota is not looking like the best team in the Big Ten to say the least. However, if both Andre and Austin can step up, this team could pull off some upsets and sneak into the NCAA tournament. Of course, it would help if other players could get better as well.
Both are great players and have a lot of upside, but Austin is the one who will have to improve the most. If not, then we could see the Golden Gophers have a down year and also see them miss out on the dance.
