St. John’s Red Storm Need To Win the Big Games In Non-Conference Schedule

The St. John’s Red Storm are getting a lot of hype for the 2013-14 college basketball season. However, they will need to win two big games in their non-conference schedule to prove that they are a legitimate contender in the Big East.

Those two games are against Syracuse and Wisconsin. Both opponents will be very tough and the Red Storm could easily lose to both of them.

However, this is a team that will basically be bringing back their entire team and it could finally be the season that we have been waiting for from head coach Steve Lavin.

I guess doing good in the Big East will be more important than beating the Orange and the badgers, but winning big non-conference games is very important when it comes to actually making the NCAA tournament and seeding once a team does make it.

St. John’s is coming off of a 17-16 record. That is not very good for how much talent that the Red Storm have, but a big season is still expected out of them regardless.

Beating Syracuse and Wisconsin would put some national attention on St. John’s and it would also show other teams in the Big East that it can contend for a national championship. So although those two games might not break its season if it does not win either one, it could really make it.

Whether the case, it will be a very interesting season and we will just have to wait and see if St. John’s is legit–my money says that the Red Storm will be.
