Wisconsin Badgers Continue To Boost Impressive Resume

Wisconsin

Mary Langenfeld-USA TODAY Sports

The Wisconsin Badgers edged out a very talented Iowa Hawkeyes team and they continue to boost their impressive resume.

The victory over Iowa was only the second win over a ranked opponent, but those two are definitely not the only quality wins. The Badgers have also beaten St. John’s, Florida, Saint Louis, Virginia and Marquette. However, the victory over the Golden Eagles does not look all that impressive anymore since they already have six losses. Still, Marquette made it to the Elite Eight last year and returned some talent.

Believe it or not, there are not many teams with a better resume than the Badgers. In fact, they could have the most impressive one in college hoops. They are 15-0 and ranked as high as No. 4.

As Wisconsin continues to win, that resume is going to look better and better. Michigan State and Ohio State are also ranked in the top 25. Teams such as Illinois, Minnesota, Michigan and Indiana could make the dance as well. Yes, the Hawkeyes should find themselves in the tournament field also.

Bo Ryan‘s team will be going through a tough stretch–currently on it–as it plays Illinois, Indiana, Michigan, Minnesota and even Purdue next. Winning all of those games would be very impressive and the Badgers would have my vote as the No. 1 team. However, I think they will slip up against one of those teams.

This is the Big Ten after all, where winning on the road is nowhere near the easiest thing to do.

In the meantime, Wisconsin can celebrate its most recent victory over a ranked opponent and it can look at that resume and be very, very proud.
