Say what you want about how weak Wichita State‘s schedule was this year. I am sure the Shockers do not mind one bit.

They may have been the brightest Cinderella in last year’s NCAA tournament, but that will not happen again. Not this year at least. That is because Wichita State is not a Cinderella. It is one of the best teams in college basketball and you better believe it has the talent to make the Final Four once again.

What You Need to Know:

Leading Scorer: Cleanthony Early (15.8 ppg)

Leading Rebounder: Cleanthony Early (5.9 rpg)

Leading Passer: Fred VanVleet (5.3 apg)

Bad Losses: None

Good Wins: Saint Louis, Tennessee, BYU

The Shockers have also beaten teams like Indiana State (three times). Beating the Sycamores doesn’t necessarily qualify as a quality win, but three victories against them should not go unnoticed.

This is not the same team we saw in last year’s dance, but it could be better and the record would certainly agree with that.

Who knows if the Shockers will disappoint, meet expectations or whatever it might be. One thing is for sure: Wichita State earned its seed this year and no one should take it lightly.

Cleanthony Early doesn’t always get the attention he deserves, but he will now have all eyes on him every time the Shockers take the court in the 2014 NCAA tournament.

The Wichita State Shockers are dancing!
