Midnight Madness has kicked off for most major Division I NCAA basketball programs. This means that the 2014-15 season has officially started and there is a lot of excitement surrounding super-talented freshmen, such as Duke's Jahlil Okafor, and high-scoring seniors, like Antoine Mason of Auburn (via Niagara, picture above). Let's take a look at who the top 15 scorers should be for what will be another great season.

The Brooklyn native and former Christ the King HS standout shocked many when he chose to sign with the long-struggling Fordham Rams in 2013. He ended up having the most successful freshman year in Fordham history, where he averaged 17.3 points a game and was named to the Atlantic 10 All-Freshman Team. Entering his sophomore year now, look for him to score closer to 20 PPG and help the Rams win a few more games than last season.

There was a lot of hype surrounding last year's freshman class and deservedly so with the likes of Andrew Wiggins, Jabari Parker, Julius Randle and Aaron Gordon. However, many freshmen were overlooked and none more so than Marcus Foster. After averaging 15.5 PPG and shooting an impressive 40 percent for his three-pointers last season, he will clearly be on everyone's radar as one of the nation's elite scorers and overall players for 2014-15.

As a highly-touted HS prospect, Marcus Paige entered the college basketball scene with a successful debut as he was named to the ACC All-Freshman team in 2013. He followed that up with a sophomore season where he averaged 17.5 PPG and was selected for the All-ACC first team. He now enters this year as North Carolina's undisputed leader and is a threat to lead the ACC in scoring. He is also a Naismith Player of the Year candidate.

This Alaska-born sharpshooter is known for his prolific scoring and currently holds the St. John's record for most career three-pointers. Last season, he averaged 17.5 PPG and was named to the All-Big East first team in addition to winning the Hagerty Award for being the best Division I player in the New York metropolitan area. Entering his senior season for the Red Storm, Harrison looks to be a favorite for the Big East scoring crown.

11. Jerian Grant - Guard - University of Notre Dame

Last season, Notre Dame started off with an 8-4 record before its season took a nose dive and it finished 15-17. The cause for its rise and fall can be summed up with one name: Jerian Grant. Before Grant was ruled academically ineligible last year, he was averaging 19 PPG, while shooting 51 percent from the field. His eligibility has been reinstated for this season and the Irish faithful can rejoice with their best scorer back on the court.

Last season, Georges Niang was a part of one of college basketball's best scoring trios with DeAndre Kane and Melvin Ejim. However, all of that will be different this year as Kane and Ejim have both graduated and Niang will have full control of the Iowa State offense. He should improve on the 16.7 PPG, 4.5 RPG and 3.6 APG that he produced last year. Additionally, the 25 pounds of fat that he lost will help his efforts for the 2014-15 season.

The pride of Aylmer, Quebec arrived with a splash in 2012-13 as he was named ACC Rookie of the Year, while averaging 15.4 PPG. Last season, he improved his scoring to 18.5 PPG, which included a season-high 38 points against FAU. This led him to being a third team All-ACC selection and he will look to improve on that in 2014. With Ryan Anderson and Joe Rahon transferring from BC, Hanlan will score more and challenge for the ACC scoring title.

After transferring from Texas Tech and sitting out for a year, Petteway had a remarkable debut season for Nebraska last season. He led the Big 10 in scoring with an average of 18.1 PPG and was a unanimous All-Big 10 first team selection. It was the first time in over 60 years that the Big 10 scoring title was won by a Cornhusker. For this season, Petteway will hover around 20 PPG and compete for the national scoring crown.

After averaging 14.9 points per game in 2013, it may seem like a surprise to see Myles Mack's name so high on this list. However, his production was hindered by the lack of a suitable backcourt teammate as the Jerome Seagers and J.J. Moore experiments didn't pan out. This year, with the arrival of Bishop Daniels, Mack may finally have what's been missing: another guard that can allow him to play off the ball and put up more shots.

Last season, Jarvis Summers proved to be one of the most improved players in the country as he raised his PPG average from 9.1 to 17.3. He was also able to do this while being teammates with the enigmatic, yet talented, scorer Marshall Henderson. Now that Henderson has used up all of his eligibility, Summers becomes the Ole Miss Rebels' No. 1 scoring and playmaking option. He is the early favorite to win SEC Player of the Year.

As a junior last season, DaVonte Lacy averaged 19.4 PPG while shooting 84 percent from the free throw line. This was a significant improvement from his sophomore year, where he only averaged 10.5 PPG and shot a disappointing 69 percent from the charity stripe. As the clear-cut leader of the Washington State Cougars entering this season, Lacy will make a bid for Pac-12 Player of the Year and conference scoring champion.

Not only did D.J. Balentine lead the Evansville Purple Aces and the Missouri Valley Conference in scoring, but he was also ranked seventh nationally with an average of 22.8 points per game. As he enters his junior year, Balentine looks poised to make a legitimate run at the national scoring title and the MVC Player of the Year award that escaped his grips last season. At the very least, he will be a top-four scorer in the country.

3. Joseph Young - Guard - University of Oregon

The former Houston Cougar picked up where he left off during his first season with Oregon last year. He averaged 18.9 PPG with outstanding percentages of 48 percent from the field, 42 percent from the three-point area and 88 percent from the charity stripe. After deciding to forgo the NBA Draft and play his senior year, Young is one of the favorites for Pac-12 Player of the Year honors and will easily be one of the best scorers in the country.

2. Chasson Randle - Guard - Stanford University

Last season, Chasson Randle put up good numbers as he averaged 18.8 PPG while splitting the scoring load with recent NBA draft selections Dwight Powell and Josh Huestis. Now that Powell is learning what the pro level is like with the Boston Celtics and Huestis is doing the same with the Oklahoma City Thunder, the Stanford Cardinal will rely heavily on Randle to carry them. He should easily score close to 25 points per game in 2014-15.

Haws may be another Jimmer Fredette in terms of being a BYU Cougar to lead the nation in scoring. He finished sixth in the country last year with an average of 23.2 PPG. Two of the players ahead of him, Doug McDermott and T.J. Warren, are in the NBA now. Antoine Mason transferred to Auburn and won't be averaging 25.6 PPG again. Lastly, Billy Baron and Patrick Miller have graduated. Therefore, Haws is the favorite to take the 2014 scoring crown.
