A college basketball team has not gone undefeated since Indiana did it in 1976. Wichita State completed an undefeated regular season last year before losing to Kentucky in the second round of the NCAA Tournament. Ironically both of those teams made the list of five teams that could go undefeated in 2014-15.

Fresh off an NCAA Tournament upset over Cincinnati last year, Harvard has a chance to run the table in 2014-15. The Crimson return several key starters from last year's team that went 27-5 and only lost once in the Ivy League. If Harvard can win a tough non-coference road game at Virginia, they will be favored in the rest of their games this season.

Gonzaga figures to be one of the top teams in the country this season thanks to the return of a terrific backcourt in PG Kevin Pangos and SG Gary Bell. While the Zags are clearly the best team in their conference, the biggest hurdles towards going undefeated will likely come in the preseason. Gonzaga plays at Arizona, at UCLA, and hosts SMU as part of a tricky non-conference schedule.

After going 34-0 in the Missouri Valley Conference last season, Wichita State is as likely a candidate as any to go undefeated in 2014-15. The Shockers return the dynamic backcourt of Fred Van Vleet and Ron Baker to an already experienced core. The loss of SF Cleanthony Early will hurt, but Wichita still has a chance to run the table because of the strength of their conference.

Arizona makes the list as one of two possible power conference teams that could go undefeated in 2014-15. The Wildcats return a large majority of a team that reached the Elite Eight last season and welcome perhaps the country's best freshman in SF Stanley Johnson. The Wildcats were 21-0 to begin last season before starting PF Brandon Ashley broke his foot. With Ashley back, Arizona could run the table this season.

There was plenty of talk about Kentucky going undefeated last season before expectations were rightfully tempered very early on. This year's Wildcats team is another story however as they combine a solid returning cast with another excellent recruiting class. Kentucky will be able to roll out two different five-man rotations that are as good as any in the country. In a weak SEC, the Wildcats have the talent to go undefeated.
