Matchup: West Virginia Mountaineers (20-6) vs. Oklahoma State Cowboys (17-9)

Not only is this a Big 12 matchup between two ranked teams, it is also a matchup between two teams battling for a spot in the 2015 NCAA tournament. Both teams are on the right side of the bubble as it stands, but that could change in a hurry with a few losses to close out the regular season.

West Virginia is coming off its biggest win of the year against the Kansas Jayhawks, so you better believe it enters this one with some momentum. The same thing cannot be said about Oklahoma State. It has lost back-to-back, and one of those losses was against the TCU Horned Frogs. TCU has three Big 12 wins.

What to Watch For

Juwan Staten is the leading scorer of the Mountaineers. He also helped lead the team to victory over Kansas last game, and even made the game-winning shot. Needless to say, fans are going to want to watch out for Staten.

As usual, Le’Bryan Nash and Phil Forte III should get the most attention coming into this contest. Both players are averaging over 16 points per game on the year.

Prediction

These teams still have another meeting after this one. Oklahoma State has to get back on track if it plans on making the dance, and we believe it will in this game. However, the Cowboys may not have the same fortune in the final outing of the regular season when they play the Mountaineers for Round 2.

West Virginia 71, Oklahoma State 77
