Matchup: Providence Friars (22-10) vs. Villanova Wildcats (30-2)

No matter who comes out on top in this game, one thing is certain: Providence and Villanova will both be part of the field of 68 for the 2015 NCAA tournament.

With that said, both of these teams clearly want to come away with the Big East conference tournament title. Villanova has quite a few things going for it entering this contest, though.

(1) The Wildcats swept the regular season series, (2) Villanova has only lost two games in 2014-15 and (3) it has won 13 games in a row.

What to Watch For

How about LaDontae Henton. He is averaging a beastly 20.1 points per game. He dropped 20 points and 12 boards on the St. John’s Red Storm last game.

As for Villanova’s side, Josh Hart came off the bench and scored 20 points against the Marquette Golden Eagles last game. It is no wonder why he was the Sixth Man of the Year in the Big East.

Prediction

Unless you are a fan of the Friars, how could you not go with the Wildcats here? They dominated the conference this season and have not lost a game in what feels like forever. For all it’s worth, they are also in line to earn a No. 1 seed in the Big Dance.

Providence captured a great victory over the Red Storm last game, but knocking off Villanova is a completely different story. A story that the Friars haven’t been able to figure out this year.

Providence 67, Villanova 75
