Record: 18-13

RPI: 46

BPI: 48

Conference: Big 12 Conference

How They Qualified: At-Large Berth

Region: No. 9 seed in West

No longer on the team is Marcus Smart and Markel Brown, but Le’Bryan Nash and Phil Forte III have been very productive to say the least. Unfortunately, both players have to be on their A game if the Oklahoma State Cowboys are going to do anything in the NCAA tournament. Then again, we could say that about every team’s star players.

Regardless, Oklahoma State has hovered right around the top 25 all season. Translation: It is definitely deserving of a tournament bid.

What You Need to Know:

Leading Scorer: Le’Bryan Nash (17.1 PPG)

Leading Rebounder: Michael Cobbins (5.9 RPG)

Leading Passer: Anthony Hickey Jr. (3.5 APG)

Bad Losses: South Carolina, TCU, Texas Tech

Good Wins: Baylor (twice), Kansas, Texas (twice), Tulsa

Would you look at those wins. Oklahoma State has clearly knocked off some tough competition this year, so you better believe it is capable of doing the same thing in the dance. With that in mind, losing to teams like TCU and South Carolina, two teams who didn’t even come close to making the tournament, isn’t exactly a great sign. But hey, this is college hoops, and upsets tend to happen. Heck, the Big Dance is the king of upsets.

Although Nash is the leading scorer, Forte III does work on the offensive side of the ball as well. He is averaging 15.1 points per game and shooting a lethal 39 percent from behind the arc. Needless to say, if Forte III gets some open looks, he will make a team pay every single time.

This isn’t the most talented team the Big 12 has to offer, but it is a solid one.

The Oklahoma State Cowboys are dancing!
