The Texas A&M Aggies floundered at the end of the 2014-15 season, missing out on the 2015 NCAA Tournament by just a few wins. However, the Aggies will come into the 2015-16 season as the dark horse to win the SEC and may even begin the season as a team ranked in the preseason top 25.

Texas A&M boasts four incoming four-star recruits along with a plethora of returning starters. The only major loss is Kourtney Roberson, who massively underperformed last season. The Aggies have the most underrated point guard in the country in Alex Caruso, as well as explosive scorers in Jalen Jones and Danuel House. The depth of this team is at ridiculous levels, with youth and experience able to come in and contribute as any situation calls for it.

The biggest problem Texas A&M had last season was an inability for players other than House and Jones to score. If some of the young players can step up and contribute on the offensive end, this team could be one of the best and most rounded teams in all of college basketball.

The Aggies may not be the flashy team in the SEC just yet, but if you take a look at their recruiting success over the past few seasons, the team continues to bring in solid four-star recruits. In fact, it’s only mid-Summer 2015 and the Aggies already have two extremely talented 2016 recruits committed to the school. Texas A&M is on the rise in the SEC, and they have the type of program to be a solid NCAA Tournament team for years to come.
