The Kentucky Wildcats actually had a chance at going undefeated (finished 38-1), and the Duke Blue Devils were arguably the next best team in line (won the championship). Also, who didn’t want to see all of those talented freshmen on the same court battling it out?
Yeah, this one is coming about a year late. Nonetheless, it is still Kentucky vs. Duke. Coach K vs. Coach Cal. No. 2 vs. No. 5.
The Champions Classic is way too kind to college hoops fans.
In the later matchup, the Kansas Jayhawks and Michigan State Spartans will battle it out.

It’s amazing to think that one of these teams will record a loss so early in the year. After all, Kentucky won 38 games in a row in 2014-15, and Duke, once again, won the title.
This time around, fans can expect to see plenty of new faces — because so many one-and-done players took their talents to the next level in the offseason. No need to panic, as both teams completely reloaded thanks to elite recruiting classes.
With so much uncertainty for both teams entering the season (and for this sport in general), who really knows what to expect? It could be a rather sloppy game since chemistry could be in question and so many players will be playing in their first college basketball game, or both teams could look like title contenders since both teams are not lacking in the talent department.
Regardless, I am going with Kentucky. Here’s why: Tyler Ulis.
